OSCILLOSCOPE MUSIC

Oscilloscope Music is music that creates it's own visuals. The same signal that goes to the speakers is also fed into an analog oscilloscope to draw green glowing lines. The left and right audio channels correspond to the horizontal and vertical axes of the image. Parametric functions are meticulously crafted to create synesthetic geometries in a lab aesthetic that is retro and futuristic at the same time. The tricky part is to create images that sound good and vice versa, which demands novel methods of synthesis, mixing and mastering.

N-SPHERES: The long awaited new EP

It's been a while since we've first announced the new EP. Many attempts have been made and scrapped since, but with each iteration we got a little closer to the concept we envisioned. The working title used to be simply NEW EP, which evolved to NEW SPHERES and has now reached it's final form as N-SPHERES. An n-sphere is an n-dimensional generalization of a circle or a sphere to any non-negative integer, and if that doesn't make sense right away, don't worry, watching the ep will get you there.

If the first album "Oscilloscope Music" was a proof of concept, N-SPHERES is the purpose of that concept. Oscilloscope Music is now completely functional and ready to ascend to the n-th dimension. N-SPHERES sounds rougher and more uncompromising, yet closer to the dancefloor and on an entirely new level of complexity. It features 5 tracks, with a complete play time of around 30 minutes.

LIMITED EDITION 3.5" FLOPPY DISK

Since Oscilloscope Music is based almost entirely on parametric functions, it is possible to store only these functions in an executable program and let the program create the audio and video output on the fly. The storage space required for such a program is just a fraction of an audio or video file. The track FUNCTION it is roughly 41KB in size. Due to this extremely small file size it is possible to store the executables for the entire audiovisual EP in Windows / MacOS versions all on one 3.5" 1.44MB floppy disk. So in addition to the download (audio / video / executables) there will also be a limited hardware release on 3.5" floppy disk + booklet with artwork and code snippets.

With either download or hardware preorder you can instantly download the video (MP4 h264, 4k 50fps / 1080p 50fps), audio (WAV/FLAC/MP3) and beta executable files for FUNCTION, and you will receive another email with your download code for the EP once it is released.
